My academic research focuses on sociological topics related to institutions, punishment, and deviance. Additionally, my public policy research is largely focused on issues related to criminal justice, health care (especially behavioral health care), and homelessness. Throughout my work I deploy quantitative research methods.
I also offer a three-page research statement that summarizes and contextualizes my different research agendas.
I hail from Santa Rosa in Northern California, but am now a longtime Davis citizen. I enjoy camping, backpacking, basketball, and reading in my spare time. I read the news daily and commute via bicycle to work. Perhaps most importantly, I am proud owner of a Lenovo Thinkpad and relish living a dongle free life.
